Communication with Aspan

Dear Aspan,

Interesting observation.
By extension we can see that it also reflects the political class is an irrelevant group of people from whichever sides they come from.
That is the trend worldwide. In fact in many cases there is no such thing as majority of the people go into the voting process since the majority of the population are no longer interested in voting They simply do not vote anymore.
They don't believe in democratic process anymore.

How can one believe in democracy when you can see evidently in Iraq and Afghanistan that people were virtually bombed to accept the voting system. That is the choice?

Putting democracy in place is nothing but a show of corporate hegemony. Who gets what in the war and in the so called democratic games.Politicians are but servants to corporate hegemony. This makes the politicians becoming more irrelevant especially when the rakyat are just becoming workers trapped on the capitalists conveyor belt. It is an 8-5 world where even islam is up for sale including the tok gurus sold in jus tok guru.

From an islamic angle, why must we go for a system that requires us to give up islamic governance every 5 years and subject to the majority to vote for islam again. And talking about majority the muslims are already a majority in this Tanah Melayu already.

How can we subject islam to the ballot box? And of course I can't see any potential from politicians still promising tarred road, electricity and water supply and worse from tok gurus giving up islam to the voters every 5 years.

Salam Ramadhan.
